FAQ

A bridal consultant will invite you to select 6 dresses from our collections, and based on your preferences, we will select further styles based on the shape that you love the most.  If you haven’t been shopping before, have some fun!  Select a variety of shapes/necklines to try on.  It’s always good to keep an open mind.  The bridal consultant will be in the fitting room with you, and will help you to get in and out of the dresses.

You don’t need to bring anything with you, as most of our dresses have in built cups/corsetry.  A strapless bra is helpful if you are trying on a strapless dress.  There are shoes in each fitting room to give you a better idea of how the dress will look with certain heel heights.

Your first appointment will be up to 90 minutes long.

Due to limitations in space, we would recommend no more than 3 people to accompany the bride to be.  In our experience, it can sometimes become overwhelming/confusing if there are too many opinions.

The majority of our shop samples are a size 12 and 14.  We do have a section of gowns for the curvier bride ranging from sizes 18-24.  In our experience, the sizing charts can differ from one designer to another.  Our aim is to make you feel comfortable and relaxed during the process, so please do not worry as we are confident we can find you a dress to love!

We would be grateful if you could wear minimal make up/fake tan to the appointment in order to help us preserve our shop samples.

Due to the nature of our building, we would be grateful if you could avoid bringing very young children along to the appointment.

Our fitting rooms are accessed by one or possibly two flights of stairs.  Please let us know if you have any requirements with regards to accessibility.  We have a ground floor fitting room and we can accommodate any requests.

If you cannot make it to an appointment, we would be grateful if you could give us  at least 24 hours’ notice. As a small business, this would help us and we thank you for your cooperation.

We will ask you to put down a 50% deposit so that we can order your dress for you.  At the appointment, you will be asked to sign the following paperwork: your measurements, terms and conditions (in duplicate) and your order form.

No.  We will take measurements from your bust (over a bra), your hips and your waist before discussing with you the size that we are going to order.  Each manufacturer has a standard sizing chart, and we will use your measurements to see which size you will be for that particular manufacturer.  As we are ordering standard sizes, the wedding dress ordered will need to be altered to fit you.  Estimates are available at the point of sale upon request.

The dress will be ordered in accordance with the measurements taken on the day of the sale.  If you have plans to lose weight, or to start up a new exercise regime, please let your bridal consultant know.  If you have a longer timescale, there is an option for you to be measured at a later date.  Your dress is ordered specifically for you, and there is no option to return/exchange a dress if it does not fit you later on.

Due to the seasonality of our stock and the need to rotate our styles, we can offer you selected dresses with 30-50% off their recommended retail price.

When you arrive at the shop, you will see that the samples are arranged in order of size and they can be bought “off the peg”.  These dresses are great for ladies on a budget, or on a tighter timeframe.

We have a large array of tiaras, veils, belts and jackets and we can guide you through what is available at any time during the process.  As we order these items from third parties, we will require up front payment for accessories before we can order them in for you.  You should allow plenty of time for us to order these in before your big day.
